We didn't celebrate the 40th, and the 45th is coming up this year. Should we invite their friends to a party or dinner, or just keep it in the family. Or should we do nothing because its not one of the ';decade'; years? What should the children do for their parents 45th wedding anniversary? Is it appropriate to host a party?
I am always for a party. So what if it isn't the decade years. Enjoy life. I would look at the budget. Decide if you want a small family gathering or a larger party with friends included. Some people rent a banquet room at a restuarant and have the dinner and party there for an intimate family gathering. For a larger party, you may could rent a party room or hall, a banquet room at your church. Decorate it however you wish. I have seen where blank cards are sent out to the guests and are asked to write something about the couple that is memorable etc. and then a scrapbook is made and given to the couple at the party. Their face expressions are priceless. What should the children do for their parents 45th wedding anniversary? Is it appropriate to host a party?
Yes, it is very appropriate to host a party in honor of your parents anniversary, and it can be in whatever size and style you wish and your budget will permit...that it's not an ';even decade'; will only add to the surprise of your plans.
Don鈥檛 worry about the Decade years... no one is promised tomorrow what if they don鈥檛 make it the decade year and you miss out ( no offense). Always celebrate your parents relationship... especially now a days folks are always married an remarried and divorced. have a party invite a load of folks and have a great time. Buy your mom a bouquet and a garter and have them throw it.. just like at a real wedding!
Of course do something. Everyone has a decade party. See if you can suprise them with people from the first wedding. People will help with food and if you specify no gifts except from say any of their kids(you....) most are even more willing to help with food, time location....ect.
