Can a girl be forced by her parents to take a virginity test?

My girlfriend, who I've been with for half a year without having any type of sexual contact, faces skepticism from her parents as to whether or not we've been having sex. They've been forcing her to go to a doctor regularly to see if she is still a virgin. Are they legally allowed to make her do this?Can a girl be forced by her parents to take a virginity test?
Depends on her age, and what state you live in. In most states the legal age for consent is 16 years of age.





Also, You're girlfriend can tell the doctor shes uncomfortable with her parents forcing her to do this and most doctors will refuse.

Most people think you can tell if someone is still a virgin or not if they still have their hymen. Well, some girls arent born with a hymen and some girls break theres by accident through excercise and such. So there really isnt a ';test'; to see if she is a virgin or not. And her parents shouldnt be able to force her to go to the doctor! Dont worry about it, her parents should believe her if she says she is still a virgin!
If she's under age they can take her to the doctor but there is no virginity test. A girl can break her hymen doing everyday activities like exercising, riding a bike, or even sitting. I went to the doctor once and told him I wasn't sexually active (when I was) because my mom was there and nothing happened.





So they're basically wasting their time. Seems like her parents have a serious trust issue with your girlfriend. I understand, my parents were so over protective.

Yes, they are legally allowed to do this considering that she is still a minor. However, a ';virginity test'; is a little questionable. I guess that they would like to know whether her hymen is still intact. If it is, it would mean that she is a virgin. Unfortunately, it's absence doesn't mean that she's had sex. A hymen could break on its own, through intense physical contact (sports), an accident, or heaving petting. It's inconclusive and probably won't change her parents' trust issues even if they find what they were hoping for.
Baby, this is a scare tactic. They figure if they send her to the doc to have her hymen checked on (as others have correctly noted, there is no reliability to this test) that you will be too afraid to penetrate her for fear of being discovered at her next visit. They're just scared and so they want to scare you (and her). I don't think it's a very ethical thing to do, frankly, but obviously her hymen is very much intact or they wouldn't be sending her back time and time again to have it ';monitored';. Given how anal they are, if she tears it putting in a tampon or it just goes away on its own, the s*** could hit the fan.





Legally however, they have no right to force her and she could very well file a police report if she wished. That's her vagina, not theirs, but chances are she's not about to have her own parents arrested for this. I think she should talk to them and tell them in her own way that she is a virgin and has never had any type of sexual contact with you, and doesn't plan to unless you guys marry. If they are good parents they will believe her, and if they continue forcing her against her will, they'll face the repercussions down the line when she's an adult and remembers this treatment with some bad feelings.





Personally, I'd be so offended by the mere suggestion, especially if I'd been so chaste up until that point to avoid violating the family ethic, that I'd move into an apartment by myself, invite you over, knock back a couple of cocktails and have my way with you once and for all.

Legally she is their daughter so she doesn't really have a choice. But their is no ';test'; to see if she is sexually active. Just about the only thing they can check is to see if her hymen has been broken, which can happen without sexual intercorse. And any other signs of sexual activity. It sounds like her parents are kinda over protective. Maybe you should try to talk to them, together to help relieve their concerns.
there is no such thing as a ';virginity test'; because a girls hymen can break in various ways before she even has sex. its probably a scare tactic they are using.... and they sound like freaks to me.

Wow. I don't know if it is illegal to send her to a gynecologist or not if she is under 18. But her parents sound nuts. I mean don't they know their kids are eventually going to have sex? And when they do wouldn't they rather make sure they are educated? I still think they should encourage abstinence but that doesn't mean its gonna happen!
no. and there is no test she can take that actually can prove if she's a virgin or not. she might not be as tight as someone who is a virgin could be.. but they can't actually prove it. don't worry! plus they can't force her to do anything against her will unless it could potentially threaten her life.
there is not such a test, the only similar thing is a rape test which is a waste of time. and yes, her parents are allowed to do whatever they wish. plus, if you haven't had sex with her, why are you so worried anyways? she will live her own life.... well, her parents will.
No, a womans or girls body is her own, Roe vs. Wade the ruling on abortion would prohibit this and a doctor is barred from telling the parents anything of a sexual matter without her consent.

If you live in europe or America somewhere then no body can force you but if you live in Asia somewhere like pakistan and Afghanistan or like that countries, then yes they can force you.

The thing is, her hymen could have been broken by non sexual events and this would make her look like a non-virgin. Actually, that is gross them doing that. I think it could border on abusive.
There is no medical test that can verify virginity.
There's no test to see if a person's a virgin. The hymen can be broken from sports, tampons etc
